Leading FMCG building products manufacturer, requires Interim Warehouse Manager due to secondment

Reporting to: Interim Logistics Manager
Responsible for: c30 Warehouse Operatives and 4 Section Leaders
  1. Outline of role:
    Management and day-to-day running of the Warehouse and despatch facility
    A 24 hour operation

  2. Key accountabilities:
    1. Department performance against specified targets and key performance indicators
    2. Operation of the Warehouse within agreed budgetary and operational constraints and to all defined processes
    3. Health and Safety issues within the Warehouse and Despatch environment
    4. Management of the Warehouse team, including: recruitment and selection , training, development , performance management (inc disciplinary where appropriate), objective setting and performance review
    5. Department resource and planning to ensure orders are loaded to schedule and errors/quality issues are minimised/eliminated
    6. Contribution to continuous improvement activity in the Warehouse and Despatch departments through analysis and identification of key losses within the department and actions to reduce/eliminate identified losses

    4. Stock and Inventory accuracy
    5. Product availability
    6. H&S Incidents
Candidate requirements:
  1. Essential Qualities
    • A "Hands on" manager
    • A strong and assertive leader, whist fair: with an inclusive and participative style. Note: There are no major IR issues
    • Health and Safety is a core value
  2. Experience
    • FMCG industry (fast moving consumer goods)
    • Warehousing and storage preferably using WMS (warehouse management systems)

Location: Leeds

Duration: 9 months +

Start date: Mid August

Daily Rate: £350 - £400 plus expenses
